APC ‘throws out’ petition against Obaseki

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed Godwin Obaseki as its candidate for the September 10 governorship election in Edo state.

Mai Mala Buni, the party’s national secretary, disclosed this on Monday, saying issues raised in some petitions recieved against the primary where Obaseki emerged were not compelling to warrant the cancellation of the exercise.

He called on all the party’s stakeholders in the state to put the party’s interest over and above personal interests in ensuring a speedy and amicable reconciliation.

Buni said the national working committee of the party led by John Odigie-Oyegun, has adopted the report of the appeals committee.
