The All Progressives Congress (APC) says there is no petrol scarcity in the country.
TheCable reported how queues surfaced in the federal capital territory (FCT) at the weekend, causing anxiety and hardship for residents.
The scarcity is said to be caused by the refusal of marketers to load the product from the depots over an “ambiguous” price template.
John Akpanudoedehe, national secretary of the APC national caretaker committee, said the party has received assurances from authorities that there is more than enough petrol to last the country for 40 days.

While asking filling stations not to hoard the product, Akpanudoedehe said there is no need for panic buying.
“The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is in touch with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, H.E. Timipre Sylva and the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari over the fuel queues noticed in some parts of the country,” the secretary said on Tuesday.
“It is an artificial fuel scarcity. We have received assurances from the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and NNPC GMD that there is more than enough petrol to last the country for 40 days.

“There is no need for panic buying and we urge petroleum filling stations to resist the urge to hoard products and illegally hike prices.”
