APC working to reconcile aggrieved members, says Ganduje

Abdullahi Ganduje, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says the party is making efforts to mend internal divisions and bring aggrieved members back into the fold.

Speaking on Wednesday at the party’s national executive committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Ganduje said efforts to resolve internal disputes were already producing positive results.

“We have embarked on a massive reconciliation of aggrieved party members, and this move is gradually yielding positive results for the party,” he said.

Ganduje explained that the APC had initiated high-level discussions among party leaders and stakeholders to address lingering disagreements and strengthen party unity.

He also spoke on the party’s strategy to boost grassroots participation, saying a shift had been made in how campaign councils are inaugurated.

Ganduje noted that rather than holding such events in Abuja, they are now being conducted in the affected states to encourage greater involvement of local party members.

“In fulfilment of our promise of taking the party to the grassroots, the national working committee introduced a new people-centred approach to campaign administration,” Ganduje added.

“Instead of the usual practice of inaugurating national campaign governorship councils of states in Abuja, the campaign councils are inaugurated in the affected states to allow for more and greater participation of party members and other stakeholders in their respective states.”

The APC is convening its first NEC meeting since the last one in August 2023.
