APGA ready to take over Abia in 2019, says Otti

Alex Otti, chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia state, says the party is ready to win all the local government areas in the state in 2019.

Otti said this on Wednesday at a rally which the Abia chapter of the party organised to celebrate the successful re-election of Willie Obiano, governor of Anambra state.

Obiano, the only APGA governor in the country, won in all the LGAs in Anambra.

Otti, who was APGA flagbearer in the 2015 Abia governorship election, said Obiano’s victory had rekindled the hope of APGA in Abia state and the south-east in general.

After receiving over 400 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Obingwa local government, Otti said Abia citizens must follow the footsteps of their counterparts in Anambra by voting APGA into power come 2019.

“APGA has a special place in our hearts, as it represents the political launch pad upon which we can chart a new course and turn around our socio-political and economic fortunes if we properly utilize the beautiful opportunity which APGA provides,” he said.

“To us in Abia, it was an emotional victory, just as it was monumental and record-breaking. We must draw inspiration from this and show greater determination to change the Abia political narratives for the better.

“On my side, I want to assure you that the burning desire to replicate and even surpass the Anambra leadership example in Abia state is very much alive, hence the need for all of us to remain optimistic, committed and steadfast in our quest to herald Abia state of our dream, as that’s the only way my lofty leadership vision for Abia can be actualised.”
