Goldman Sachs, a multinational investment bank, says it has opened applications for its 2023 ‘Africa and Caribbean recruiting initiative’ in Birmingham, London.

According to the firm, it is recruiting for its summer analyst or summer associate internship position, under its engineering division.

The scheme, Goldman Sachs said, is an interactive multi-day programme for students in Africa and The Caribbean, who plan to complete their bachelor’s or master’s degree programmes between January 2023 and June 2024.

It added that selected participants would gain real-life perspectives on the industry while making invaluable connections.

The investment bank said the programme is open to all majors and is designed to introduce students to the financial world through hands-on experience.

According to the institution, participants will discover the extensive range of engineering career opportunities in the financial services industry, and also gain tangible resume-enhancing skills and tips through interactive workshops.

It said participants will work closely with a group of peers to improve their technical and soft skills, while networking with Goldman Sachs professionals to learn about their experiences and diverse backgrounds.

“Depending on region, programs last between eight and eleven weeks and are designed to fully immerse you in the day-to-day activities of one of our divisions.

The summer associate internship is for candidates currently working towards an advanced degree such as an MBA, JD, MD or LLM and is usually undertaken during the second or penultimate year of study.
