APPLY: MTN extends deadline for media innovation fellowship to April 12

MTN Nigeria has extended the application deadline for its 2025 Media Innovation Programme (MIP) to April 12.

The six-month certificate programme, run in partnership with the School of Media and Communication at Pan-Atlantic University (PAU), offers training, international exposure, and networking opportunities.

The programme aims to equip media professionals with skills to navigate the changing media landscape.

The call for applications ahead of the fourth cohort of the MTN MIP was opened on March 24, 2025.

It closed on April 7 after its 14-day application window elapsed.

In a statement on Thursday, Tobe Okigbo, chief corporate services and sustainability officer at MTN Nigeria, said this deadline has now been extended.

He said the extension was due to a surge in applications, particularly from outside major cities.

“After the webinar on April 4 hosted by past MIP fellows to support the applicants, it was important to extend the deadline to enable more diverse voices to have a chance to be part of this experience”, he said.

Okigbo said the new deadline provides additional time for aspiring applicants who missed out on the previous application window.

The MTN MIP was first launched in 2022 to address the challenges and opportunities presented by the evolving media landscape

The fellowship offers digital storytelling masterclasses to media professionals.

The MIP, its website says, aims to equip participants to adapt, innovate, and lead in a digitally driven environment.
