The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Eagles head coach is vacant.
On March 1, Jose Peseiro announced his departure from the role of the head coach of Nigeria’s men’s senior national team.
The Portuguese, appointed Eagles head coach in 2022, said his contract with the NFF had run out, and no new deal had been agreed on.
Peseiro’s exit came a few weeks after he led Nigeria to the silver medal at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.

NFF had not released an official statement on the development since Peseiro’s announcement.
However, in a statement on its website on Friday, NFF called for applications from coaches looking to succeed the Portuguese.
The federation also added requirements that prospective applicants must meet to land the job.

NFF added that prospective applicants must send emails to [email protected] before March 12.
The federation also declared the Golden Eaglets head coach role vacant and called on interested candidates to apply for the position.
