The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced a logo design competition for students nationwide.
The NIMC announced the competition in a notice posted on X on July 8, signed by Kayode Adegoke, its head of corporate communications.
The commission said the logo design should include a concept explanation not exceeding 200 words.
The competition, NIMC said, is in honour of the 6th national identity day, theme, ‘Digital Public Infrastructure: Enabling Access to Services’.

“Legal identity is a birthright and not a privilege. At the National Identity Management Commission, we work hard every day to ensure legal identity is accessible for every Nigerian and legal resident,” the notice reads.
“In commemoration of the 6″ National Day of Identity, themed “Digital Public Infrastructure: Enabling Access to Services”, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) calls on interested Pupils from Primary Schools as well as Students in Secondary Schools and Tertiary institutions across the Federation to participate in a graphic art design competition by designing a NIMC Logo and explaining the concept behind the design.
“The concept note which should not exceed 200 words, should have the following: national identification number (NIN), name of school/institution, class/level (as the case may be), the design approach/steps, the inspiration behind the concept, the advantage over the existing logo, graphics style and typography, colours etc.

“This competition cuts across all age grades in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions with winners selected from each category.
“Designs, accompanied by concept notes should be sent in PDF, JPEG, or PNG format via email to: [email protected] with “Logo Design” as the subject of the email.
“Please note: NIMC staff and family members are excluded from participation in this competition; joint design is allowed; this competition is aimed at celebrating and appreciating individual’s unique identity and creativity, therefore, NIMC will verify all submissions to ensure its originality (i.e. winners may be asked to redesign their submitted concepts); late submission will not be accepted and this application is completely free of charge.”
NIMC said the deadline for all submissions is August 16 at 4 pm.

The commission said winners from each category will be invited to the identity day in Abuja for the presentation of the award by the director-general of the commission on September 16.
