Creative Youth Community Development Initiative (CYCDI)-Solution17 for Climate Action and the United Nations Information Centre for Nigeria (UNIC) have called for applications from creative Nigerian youths, innovators, scientists, students, and entrepreneurs to design and implement solutions towards climate change adaptation in Nigeria.
In a press release on Friday, the SDG action award winner group stated that the campaign tagged #NaijaClimateNow is seeking projects that address climate adaptation through tech-driven sustainable businesses, climate-smart agriculture, eco-friendly growers, waste to wealth, food processing programme, food preservation and others.
Foluke Michael, project director of CYCDI – Solution17 for Climate Action, said the project was designed to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, prevent a climate crisis and support green businesses.
“Solution17 for Climate Action has embarked on massive climate adaptation projects through green recovery to build back better in Lagos and Nigeria.

She stated that registration is only open to individuals or teams under the age of 35 in Nigeria, adding that interested persons who have climate adaptation ideas or solutions can apply online.
She also said the project will showcase these Nigerian-made solutions and technologies to address climate change at a special COP26 Summit and Art exhibition.

The project, which is also supported by the German government through the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Lagos, aims to promote the green entrepreneurs to champion green recovery in Nigeria, give incentives for growers and equipment to support climate action enterprises.
