Army hosts training in Abuja to check female troops‘ physical fitness

The Nigerian Army Women Corps (NAWC) says it will commence a seven-day field training exercise (FTX) in Abuja for its troops.

Hashimu Abdullahi, a captain and acting spokesperson of NAWC,  in a statement on Thursday said the training is slated to hold from August 27, 2022, to September 2, 2022, in Giri-Gwagwalada general area, Abuja.

The exercise, the spokesperson said, “is designed to test the troop’s Leadership skills, Physical fitness, Teamwork, Military Operations Other than War among other military drills.”

The captain said that the exercise would also provide a platform to ascertain troops’ preparedness to support the Nigerian army’s engagements.

“Residents in the general areas mentioned are therefore enjoined to go about their normal daily routine activities and report any security breach to the nearest authority.

“Furthermore, members of the communities are advised to stay away from the exercise area during the entire period of the FTX.“
