Army ‘releases’ Bolori, ‘Mama Boko Haram’ after 3 days

The Nigeria army has granted administrative bail to Ahmed Bolori and Aisha Wakil, who were declared wanted for alleged links with Boko Haram.

PRNigeria, a media agency which circulates security press releases, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

Bolori and Wakil had voluntarily surrendered themselves to the army after they were declared wanted.

According to the agency, they were granted bail after they had met some conditions, which included the submission of their international passports.

A top military officer said that investigation was still in progress, while Ahmed Salkida, who was also declared wanted, was being expected.

The three Nigerians were declared wanted on Sunday after Boko Haram released a video purporting to show some of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls.

After turning himself in at the army command headquarters in Maiduguri on Monday, Bolori had written on Facebook that instead of the harsh treatment the public was probably expecting, he soon found himself “drinking tea with a nice colonel”.

However, he has been quiet ever since.
