Aminu Maigari, who was sacked as president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) by a Plateau court on Thursday, was picked up on Friday by the Department of State Service (DSS) operatives who were waiting for his return at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
However, Maigari, who led the Super Eagles team back to Nigeria from the World Cup in Brazil, was released after the chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, who is Maigari’s son-in-law, put a call across to the head of the DSS.
“Adamu Muazu had to call for the release of his father-in-law, Maigari, who is now resting at home,” a top government source told TheCable.
