Favour Ashe and Emmanuel Ojeli have qualified for the final of the senior men’s 100 meter race of the Lagos Continetal Relay.

The duo dominated the semi-finals of the event, which was held at the sport complex of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) on Wednesday.

Ashe, a semi-finalist at the Paris Olympics, cruised to the finish line in the third semi-final race.

The 22-year-old clocked a wind-aided 10.14 seconds as he conservatively jogged through the race while his competitors were straining their muscles.

Thankgod Igube of Nigerian Customs finished second, with a wind-aided 10.23 seconds, and also progressed into the final.

On his part, Ojeli smashed his three-year-old personal best (PB) to clock 10.24 seconds as he won the second semi-final heat.

Ojeli achieved the feat despite being a quarter-mile specialist. He was a member of the quartet that won the 4x400m relay gold for Nigeria at the 2024 African Games and set a continental record.
