The governing council of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi state has dismissed one Usman Aliyu, a PhD holder, from the service of the institution.

Zailani Bappa, the institution’s PR director, disclosed this in an interview with NAN in Bauchi on Thursday.

He said the lecturer’s dismissal was approved during the 96th regular meeting of the institution held on April 11, 2025.

Bappa said it came after the lecturer was found guilty of having sexually harassed a married female postgraduate student of the institution.
