Atiku: Best years of Nigeria were witnessed under PDP

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says Nigeria had its best years when the PDP was in power.

Speaking at the party’s presidential campaign for north-central zone, Abubakar said Nigerians are witnesses to the failure of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to deliver its campaign promises and the time had come for the electorate to return the PDP back to power.

He alleged that the ruling party was buying permanent voter cards (PVCs), urging the voters not to mortgage their future by selling theirs.

“Now, you have seen the failure of the APC government since 2015 till today,” Abubakar said.

“There is nothing they have not promised us. They promised us security, they have failed. They promised us jobs, they failed, they promised to restore the economy or improve it upon what the PDP has achieved, they failed. Whatever they promised, they failed

“It is time for you people to return this country to PDP because the best years of this country was when the PDP was governing our country from 1999 to 2014.

“Therefore, I want to appeal to you, you have listened to all the speakers today, non of them has told you any lies. What they have said are all facts.

“In terms of corruption, we are worse off than we were in 2014, in terms of economy, we are the poorest country in the world today, in terms of insecurity, we are the most insecured than any other time in the history of our country.

“So, what do we do? Buhari must go! Buhari must go! APC must go! Let me tell you what they are doing; they are buying PVCs, they will thank you and give you N10, N20, N50 to buy your PVC. They are buying your future.

“Do you want to sell your future? Do you want to mortgage your future? Therefore, don’t sell your PVCs because they are going to use it against you. God bless you all.”
