Australia is set to attract skilled migrants in 2025, with healthcare, technology, and engineering among the top sectors in demand.
The latest report from Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) has outlined 456 occupations on the 2024 Consolidated Skilled Occupations List (CSOL).
The CSOL forms the basis for the Core Skills Stream under the Skills in Demand (SID) visa program.
It allows employers to sponsor skilled workers for temporary visas, with potential pathways to permanent residency.

Healthcare workers, including registered nurses, general practitioners, midwives, and specialists, are in high demand due to Australia’s ageing population.
Engineering roles such as civil, mechanical, electrical, and mining engineers remain critical for the country’s infrastructure development.
The technology sector is seeking ICT business analysts, software engineers, cybersecurity engineers, and data scientists.

Australia also requires teachers for early childhood, primary, and secondary schools, as well as vocational education.
Tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and machinists, are listed as essential occupations.
Other roles in demand include accountants, auditors, solicitors, chefs, and cooks.
Migrants are encouraged to research job requirements, align their skills with Australian standards, and explore visa options.
