Nigeria’s D’Tigress out dunked Senegal to claim a back-to-back title at the 2019 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket at the Dakar Arena in Senegal.
D’Tigress becomes the first team to win back-to-back Women’s AfroBasket titles since Angola followed up their 2011 triumph with another in 2013.
The Otis Hugley tutored side clinched their fourth Afrobasket title after defeating 12th-time African champion, Senegal 60-55 on Sunday.
The first and quarter ended 14-10. The Nigerian side extended their lead in the second quarter with 8 points.

Third quarter saw D’Tigress with 11 points lead at 48-37.
The fourth quarter was a keenly contested one which saw Senegal come back into the game before the Nigerian side nicked off 5 points difference to be victorious.
D’Tigress averaged tournament-highs of 84.5 points and 52 rebounds per game.

D’Tigress also defeated Senegal in 2017 to claim their third Afrobasket title.
