Bad news! Falode’s killer ‘will never be found’

There is no chance that the “killer” of Toba Falode, son of renowned sports journalist Aisha Falode, will ever be found and prosecuted, a Nigerian resident in Dubai has told Thecable.

Falode’s son died on February 15, 2014, after he was “thrown from the balcony of the 17th floor of an apartment at Manchester Tower in Dubai”, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and his mother says the murderer is Faisal Aldakmary Al-Nasser, a Saudi Arabian who has already confessed to the crime.

However, a Nigerian who has lived in Dubai for the past seven years but has asked not to be named for fear of deportation, says the Arabs have a culture of protecting one another that means Aldakmary Al-Nasser, if he is indeed the killer, will neither be apprehended by the Dubai police nor tried by any court of law.

“The Arabs have something in common, and it is that they ensure that none of them is ever punished for any indiscretion against an outsider,” she said.

“If that guy truly murdered Falode’s son, expect him to be covered up till the very end. There is no chance he will be made to stand trial much less face a jail term.

“I can give you examples of Nigerian girls who were impregnated by Arab men. Guess what happened? The girls were deported because, in any case, you aren’t even supposed to be having sex in the UAE.

“A ‘nice’ Arab man will take the baby before getting the mother deported. In worse cases, mother and foetus are deported immediately, never to ever return to the emirates.”

However, she dismissed growing insinuations that Nigerians in the Asian country are being targeted, following the controversial death of Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha, the son of Diepreiye Alamieyeseigha, erstwhile governor of Bayelsa state.

“I do not think that there is any grand target at Nigerians as Nigerians back home have been saying. I believe that these incidents are pure coincidences,” she said.

“But what I am certain of is that if an African or any non-Arab dies and an Arabian is culpable, expect the truth to be buried. Expect justice not to be served.”
