Bandits have reportedly abducted over 50 persons, including Hussaini Sarkin-Gabas, a district head, during an attack on Bagega village in Anka LGA of Zamfara state.

The bandits were said to have invaded the village on Tuesday on motorbikes and began shooting sporadically, while setting houses ablaze.

Three persons have also been reported killed from the attack.

“Additionally, two critically injured victims have been referred to the Federal Medical Center in Gusau for further care.”

In September, bandits attacked the Federal University of Gusau (FUG) in Zamfara and abducted some students of the school.

The Zamfara state government has said it would not negotiate with bandits terrorising the state, adding that it would wage war against terrorists and criminal elements until they are eliminated.
