Ahmad Jalam, the Bauchi state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, has died in an auto crash.
In a statement issued on Sunday morning, Bala Mohammed, Bauchi governor, said the accident occurred on the Misau-Darazo highway on Saturday.
The governor described the deceased as a dedicated public servant.
Mohammed said Jalam’s commitment to the development and well-being of his local communities was unwavering.

“During his lifetime, he championed numerous initiatives aimed at improving good governance and community relations,” the governor said.
“Late Ahmed Jalam was known for his tireless work, integrity, and compassion for the people he served and his service will be remembered and cherished by all.
“His demise is deeply felt by all and the countless individuals whose lives he touched during his lifetime.”

The governor expressed his condolence to the members of Jalam’s family and his constituents.
The late commissioner will be buried according to Islamic rites on Sunday in his hometown in Dambam LGA of Bauchi.
