The Bauchi government says it has confirmed a third case of coronavirus in the state.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Bala Tela, the deputy governor, said out of the 23 samples brought from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), one tested positive.
Tela, who is also the chairman of the state task force committee, said the patient has been isolated and treatment commenced immediately.
The deputy governor appealed to residents to obey all the instructions on personal hygiene and social distancing.

Bala Mohammed, governor of the state, tested positive for the virus last week.
Nigeria has so far recorded 139 cases of coronavirus, with two deaths and nine recoveries.
Of the 139 confirmed cases, Lagos has 82, FCT has 28, and Oyo has eight cases.

Osun has five cases, Ogun has four, Kaduna has three, while Edo, Enugu have two cases each. Ekiti, Rivers and Benue states have recorded one case each.
Ekiti and Oyo states have also discharged one patient each.
