Bayelsa commissioner abducted in Otuoke

Serefina Otazi, the Bayelsa state commissioner for local government, was abducted in Otuoke, the hometown of Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday.

According to Patrick Oba, nephew to the commissioner, she was kidnapped on her way to attend a funeral at Ewoi community in Ogbia local government area.

The kidnappers reportedly whisked her away the victim while she was in the company of two ladies.

Otazi had served as commissioner for women affairs and acting chairman of Ogbia LGA.

Endurance Frank, a family member, told NAN that the family had reported the incident to the police and prayed that the victim would be released unhurt.

Otazi’s kidnap came a day after Nancy Dickson, younger sister to Seriake Dickson, governor of the state was also abducted.

Nancy was taken from her shop located on Okaka road in Yenagoa, the state capital.
