Bayern Munich, German treble champions, have defeated Sevilla, a Spanish La Liga side, to win the 2020 UEFA Super Cup.
The Hans-Dieter Flick side won their second UEFA Super Cup title after a 2-1 extra time win over Sevilla at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Thursday night.
It was an interesting first forty-five minutes for Sevilla, who went ahead but then spent the rest of the half fending off wave after wave of Bayern attacks, and eventually paid the price.

The German champions conceded their first goal of the season when Lucas Ocampos coolly slotted his spot kick low to Manuel Neuer’s right as the Bayern captain went the opposite direction.
Robert Lewandowski team up with Leon Goretzka to restore parity in the 34th minute.
Sevilla started on the front foot at the start of the second half, which saw them earned a succession of corners after Neuer made a good save from De Jong.
Lewandowski and Leroy Sane got the ball into the net in the second stanza of play but both goals were ruled offside.

This year’s edition went into extra time after a 1-1 scoreline at the end of 90 minutes of play.
In the first half of extra time, Sevilla came on strong from the kick-off but Joan Jordan held on to the ball far too long and Niklas Sule recovered to prevent the danger.
Five minutes after coming of the bench, Javi Martinez broke the deadlock by handing the Bavarians the lead from a header in the 104th minute.
Sevilla has now lost their seventh Super Cup final outing since 2006.
