Ayo Ladigbolu, archbishop emeritus of the Methodist Church Nigeria (MCN) and chairman of Yoruba Unity Forum, says he was divinely inspired to choose a car winner at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) 40th anniversary.
At the raffle draw organised as part of activities for the anniversary over the weekend, Motunrayo Folarin was selected as the winner of the star prize, a Toyota Camry vehicle.
Ladigbolu, one of the leading contestants for the Alaafin of Oyo throne, was the chairperson of the event.
He also selected the ticket which produced Folarin as the winner of the star prize.

Speaking in an interview on Friday, Ladigbolu said being selected to choose the star prize ticket was “God’s way of giving the people of Oyo a taste of what is coming”.
“The invitation from BCOS Ibadan requesting me to pick the star prize winner at its 40th anniversary raffle draw was divinely inspired,” he said.
“It came as a follow-up to a recent affirmation by an Oyo community leader that there’s hardly any developmental project in Oyo without my signature.

“God must have intended to send a symbolic message to the Oyo community and the Yoruba Nation by guiding me to pick a star prize ticket whose owner is from Oyo and is directly related to the royal family.
“No doubt, I am configured as a messenger of good news.”
He added that the huge crowd at the grand finale of the anniversary celebration showed that BCOS is a popular broadcasting station in Oyo and across the country.
Other winners included Florence Ojo, who won a refrigerator, and Ranti Mobola, who got a plot of land.
