Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), says Nigerians should be hopeful and be ready to make sacrifices for a better country.
In a Christmas message on Saturday, Valentine Obienyem, media aide to Obi, quoted the presidential candidate as saying that Nigerians should go beyond the festivities associated with the Christmas season, and strive to live out the true essence of the celebration.
The former governor of Anambra state said giving to the poor is one of the hallmarks of the Christmas celebration, adding that festivity should remind Nigerians of God’s sacrifice to the world.
“We, as humans should therefore, endeavour to make sacrifices, even when it is painful, for the good of others and for our society,” he said.

“Fraternal love and giving to the poor are the hallmark of Christmas celebration, I enjoin all to lend helping hands to one another.
“Nigerians should see the year 2023 as a very significant year in the history of the nation, as it presents Nigerians with the opportunity to turn around the trajectory of the nation by giving only competent leaders access to power.”
