Bekeme Masade-Olowola, chief executive of CSR-in-Action group, has been honoured by the Nigerian Institute of Mining and Geosciences (NIMG).
At the 2021 annual public lecture, investiture, and awards of the NIMG held in Abuja, she won the ‘Women’s Role Model in Mining and Geosciences’ award.
Masade-Olowola’s non-governmental organisation (NGO), CSR-in-Action Advocacy, also emerged ‘Best Performing NGO in Mining and Geosciences’ category for its contribution to creating awareness and finding solutions to the problems facing the industry.
The award ceremony was to recognise persons who have made considerable impact on the mining and geoscience industry.

Olowola is a sustainability and communications expert and the CSR-in-Action is a consulting and training organisation committed to corporate social responsibility, policy development, advocacy and empowerment.
She is the first West African to become a board member of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and is the convener of the sustainability in the extractive industries (SITEI) conference.
