Betta Edu, the national women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been honoured for promoting gender inclusion and women empowerment in the country.

Remi Tinubu, First Lady of Nigeria, announced the award on Tuesday during the renaming of the National Centre for Women’s Development (NCWD) in Abuja.

Tinubu renamed the centre after the late Maryam Babangida in recognition of her “outstanding role in championing women development” during her stint as first lady.

Edu’s award was facilitated by the Maryam Babangida National Center For Women Development in collaboration with the ministry of women affairs and social development.
