Ẹnitan Kẹhinde, general manager and lead consultant of the United Kingdom (UK) operations of BlackHouse Media (BHM), has been announced as the winner of PRovoke’s ‘Young Changemakers’ award.

According to PRovoke Media, the award is organised in partnership with WE Communications “to celebrate the next generation of communications leaders, help launch the careers of up-and-comers, and create better equity and more opportunity for those in marginalized groups”.

Ẹnitan, a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), was praised by the judges for her purpose-driven work ethic and efforts to promote quality service delivery within the global public relations and communications industry.

Speaking on the award, Ẹnitan described the honour as “humbling”, adding that it is a reflection of commitment to hard work.

“This is a humbling win for me as I have, over the years, worked hard with my team to build people, platforms, resources and initiatives that not only educate, upskill and develop new industry entrants, young consultants and leaders, but also shape the future of the global PR and communications industry,” she said.

Among her achievements include producing “Nigeria’s only PR Report for four years; PR workbooks and resources, BHM’s Guide to PR and The Concept of Virality and the significant impact BHM UK plans to achieve across Africa and the UK”.

Ẹnitan is also passionate about supporting youths and women in the marketing communications industry, and in 2020, she played a significant mentoring role with the setup of the WIM Connect initiative, which provides a safe space for young women in marketing communications.

In her remarks, Melissa Zorkin, WE global CEO, said: “This award is about the chance to create that change and give those kinds of opportunities to people who may not have had them ever before — people who are brave enough really to shout out what all of us here in this room could do better to move the industry forward in bold and new directions.”

Submissions for the ‘Young Changemakers’ award were received from Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
