Bird strike forces Fenerbahce plane to make emergency landing

Robin Van Persie, former Red Devils striker, and his Fenerbache teammates were forced to make an emergency landing in Budapest, Hungary Wednesday afternoon.

The plane transporting the team to Manchester ahead of Thursday’s Europa game had to make the stop after it collided with a bird and its front window cracked.

Fenerbahce made the incident known through social media but added that “there is nothing alarming”.

Manchester United replied Fenerbahce with a tweet from the English team’s official account: “Wishing you a safe trip for the rest of your journey to Manchester. See you soon.”
