The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced a power outage in parts of the federal capital territory (FCT).
In a statement on Wednesday, the AEDC said the blackout was due to a “technical fault” on the feeders serving these areas.
According to the company, the areas affected are Brains and Hammer, City Estate, Today’s Estate, parts of the Dape District, Katsina Estate, Paradise Estate, Ochacho Estate, Kafe District, America Embassy Estate, parts of Gwarinpa, 1st Avenue, 2nd Avenue, parts of 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa police station, Evelyn Events Centre and parts of Jahi District.
Others are Karmo District, Kings Court Estate, Cite Estate, Idu Industrial Phase 1, parts of Kaduna Road, APC Quarters, Kantoma Empire Energy, Vertex Agro Limited, Gwagwalada Teaching Hospital, Zenith Bank, Customs Quarters, St. Mary’s Hospital, Mumai, Gwako village, Giri Village, I University of Abuja Staff Quarters, University of Abuja Permanent Site, Iddo Sark environs, and Gui Village.

Gbesse, Gosa Leg, Kukara, Bassa Jiwa, Sauka, Peggi, CKC Gwagwalada, Kuje Road, Almat Farms, Kiran Farm, Efugo Farms, parts of Kwali Road, Chukuku, Premium Farms, el-Rufai Estate, Daghiri, Kuje extension and all its environs were also included in the list.
The AEDC said its “dedicated technical team is working tirelessly to restore power as quickly as possible”.
The FCT has experienced prolonged outages in recent times.

In January 2025, the AEDC announced that power supply in Abuja would be disrupted due to the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) relocating feeder and transmission line towers along the outer southern expressway.
In December 2024, power supply in some parts of the FCT was disrupted due to maintenance exercises by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
