Another blast has been recorded – this time in Apapa, Lagos – on a day 21 persons lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Abuja.
Three persons were killed in front of Folawiyo fuel depot (also called tank farm), located on Creek Road – the same street with THISDAY newspaper – as a result of the explosion which occurred around 8.30pm.
It is yet to be officially confirmed if the blast occurred from a bomb attack but a witness at the scene said emphatically: “It is a bomb. The police anti-bomb squad are on their way here. It is bomb blast.”
According to the witness, someone ran into the compound of the tank farm and detonated a bomb, killing three persons instantly.

The witness said a car “wired with bomb” had rammed under a trailer parked outside ran the compound around the same time.
“We were all scared as we heard the explosion and saw smoke everywhere. Apparently, the first explosion was meant to be a distraction, and then the person into the compound to detonate the bomb,” she said.
However, state government officials have dismissed claims that it is a bomb blast.
