Boko Haram ambushes Cameroonian soldiers, kills 2

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents laid ambush for Cameroonian troops in the country’s far-north region on Wednesday, killing two officers.

A military source told Xinhua that the incident happened in the town of Dabanga, still in the northern region.

The insurgents were said to have struck again around 2am on Thursday, killing 7 people.

According to reports, the attackers also burnt several houses in the village.

Cameroon, one of the countries with troops in the regional offensive against Boko Haram, has suffered repeated attacks from the sect.

On Sunday, nine people lost their lives and about 20 sustained injuries in multiple suicide bombings in the town of Kolofata, which shares border with Nigeria.

Amnesty International has blamed the insurgents and Cameroon military for an estimated 400 deaths in the last one year.
