Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly killed two persons and injured one in an attack carried out in Kofa village near Alau, Borno state.
A source told TheCable that the insurgents who came on motorcycles set the village on fire.
“Two people were burnt to aches while one person was hit by a stray bullet during the attack,” the source said.
A security source who confirmed the attack to TheCable said troops in the area later repelled it.

The insurgents had stormed the village in search of food, the source explained.
“The troops engaged the insurgents in a hot gun battle and chased them away,” he said.
He added that troops have been drafted to the location to ensure sanity.

The attack is coming less than 24 hours after Rogers Nicholas, theatre commander of operation Lafiya Dole, announced that the insurgents had been completely defeated.
Earlier on Monday, Abdulrahman Dambazau, minister of interior, also said Boko Haram had been degraded.
