The wife of Cameroon’s vice prime minister has been kidnapped by Boko Haram, Cameroon’s information minister and government spokesman told Reuters.
Three people were also killed in an attack by the militants on the vice prime minister’s home in the northern town of Kolofata on Sunday.
A local religious leader, Seini Boukar Lamine, was also kidnapped from his house, in a separate attack.
“I can confirm that the home of Vice Prime Minister Amadou Ali in Kolofata (pictured) came under a savage attack from Boko Haram militants,” Issa Tchiroma told Reuters by telephone.

“They unfortunately took away his wife. They also attacked the lamido’s residence and he was also kidnapped,” he said.

When your neighbour’s house is on fire and you are less concerned, it shall definitely spread to yours. Nigeria’s uncharitable neighbours termed Boko haram as our own problem, Now the terrorist chicken has come home to roost!
It goes without saying that a regional concerted effort is now imperative to deal with this problem
