Suspected Boko Haram militants killed 26 people in attacks on two villages on Lake Chad, local authorities in Chad told Reuters on Wednesday.
The news agency did not provide details of the attacks but Boko Haram has been operating in the country, which has troops in the regional force fighting insurgency on the continent.
Chad has lost dozens of soldiers fighting in northern Mali and in Nigeria.
On June 15, two suicide bombers killed 20 people during attacks on police and intelligence offices in N’Djamena, capital of the country.
