A religious sect preaching doctrines similar to Boko Haram is on the rise in Kebbi state, north-western Nigeria, Daily Trust has reported.
The group, known as “Yanlabaiku”, is against western education like Boko Haram and is currently conducting public preaching, meetings and processions, the newspaper reported.
Like Boko Haram in the 2000s, no violence has been associated with Yanlabaiku activities in its infancy.
It currently has 100 members at its base in Gwadangwaji, near Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi state.
