Following the insurgent attacks on Mubi, Adamawa, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has concluded arrangements to open more camps for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Yola.
Sani Datti, the agency’s spokesman, disclosed the plan in an interview with NAN in Yola on Friday.
Datti said that the plan was in response to the rising number of IDPs from Mubi town and other communities in Adamawa, adding that many residents from Mubi and Uba had fled to Yola following the attacks.
He said that Muhammad Sani-Sidi, the director-general of NEMA, had dispatched search and rescue teams to help in Adamawa.
