Bolivia call off friendly with Nigeria

The Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) on Tuesday cancelled the international friendly match between their national team and the Super Eagles of Nigeria for fear of Islamic militant group, Boko Haram.

Carlos Chavez, FBF’s president and executive secretary,  Alberto Lozada acknowledged the concerns of national team coach, Mauricio Soria over the March 26, 2015 match against Nigeria at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo and decided to call off the game.

“The armed conflict in Nigeria with the performance of the Boko Haram militia forced the cancellation of that game,” Chavez said.

Chavez expects no financial penalty for breach of contract signed by the company Full Play and FIFA agent, Jairo Pachon, who organised the game.

The FBF are now looking for a team in South America they can face on that day.
