Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno has been declared as the winner of Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
Jude Rabo, the returning officer, while announcing the result, said Zulum of All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 545, 542 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mohammed Jajari of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who got 82,147 votes.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Zulum defeated 11 other contestants in the race.
Also, the 28 house of assembly seats in the state were won by APC, with Abdulkarim Lawan, the incumbent speaker of the assembly, who is the longest-serving speaker winning for the fifth time.
