Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), has dissociated himself from a Twitter account making “unsavoury” comments about governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Monday, a Twitter user with the name ‘Boss Mustapha’ posted a tweet expressing opposition to the candidacy of Aisha Binani, governorship candidate of the APC in Adamawa, saying “it goes completely against the teachings of Islam”.
“As much as I would love the people’s choice to prevail, I would pray that the calamity of being led by a woman doesn’t befall the good people of the state,” the post reads.
The account also tweeted in support of the PDP governorship candidate in Zamfara.

In a statement signed by Willie Bassey, his spokesperson, the SGF said he has no affiliation with the account making “unsavoury comments on the governorship candidates of APC in Adamawa and Zamfara States”.
The SGF asked Nigerians to disregard the account.
“For the avoidance of doubt, SGF wishes to state categorically that he does not own or operate any Twitter handle by such a user name and therefore calls on Nigerians to disregard any negative comments made with such a user name on Twitter against the persons of the Governor of Zamfara State and the Governorship candidate of APC in Adamawa State,” the statement reads.

“He finds it mischievous for any person to attach his name to a fake user account. He, therefore, cautions Twitter users and those who respond to certain posts to always endeavour to verify Twitter handles before responding to posts of any sort.”
