At least 12 people have been killed as at first count in a bomb explosion in Azare Town, Bauchi state.
According to NAN, Lawal Shehu, the Bauchi state commissioner of police, confirmed the blast, saying rescue operations were ongoing.
Although Shehu said he could not ascertain the casualty toll yet, AlJazeera quoted witnesses as saying at least 12 people, including the suicide bomber, had died.
Sunday’s attack comes only nine days after a bomb blast in the same town killed at least 15 people at a branch of First bank of Nigeria.
