A female bomber has blown herself up at the Kano State Polytechnic, Gadan-Kaya in Kano, Kano State.
The Nigerian police force and the State Security Service (SSS) have both confirmed the attack, but casualty toll is still unclear.
SSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogah, said the bomber was about “14 or 15 years old”.
A witness told TheCable that the suspect disguised in hijab and then mixed with students queuing to check their names on the newly-released National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) postings list.

“There are casualties, but I don’t have the specific number because we were in a class waiting for our lecturer when we heard the blast,” he said.
“I managed to escape because there was commotion everywhere.”
However, director-general of the national orientation agency, Mike Omeri, told TheCable that six people died while six others were injured.
