President Muhammadu Buhari did not make any comment about the shooting of protesters in Lekki, Lagos, during his to address the nation on the #EndSARS protests.
There have been different reactions to the attack on unarmed protesters at the Lekki toll gate.
Buhari’s address comes 48 hours after soldiers invaded the Lekki toll gate where thousands of protesters had been demonstrating against police brutality for 13 days.
The protesters had refused to leave the toll gate despite the 24-hour curfew imposed by the state government.

Videos showed that men in army uniform fired at unarmed protesters during the attack.
While several persons have been confirmed to sustain degrees of injuries, there is a controversy on deaths in the attack.
Since the attack, there have been reprisals, especially hoodlums who burnt down police stations, public buildings, government vehicles, among others.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) head office in Lagos, Lagos high court, Igbosere, Oba of Lagos palace, Television Continental head office, The Nation Newspapers head office were also attacked, with some set ablaze.
The international community, including the United Nations, UK, reacted to the attack and demanded a probe of the shooting of unarmed protesters.
