Buhari seeks senate’s nod to appoint 15 advisers

Muhammadu Buhari giving his inaugural speech

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the senate to approve a list of 15 special advisers who will work with him in his government.

David Mark, senate president, read a letter to that effect from Buhari on the floor of the senate, but the names of the special advisers were not stated.

The president’s request is coming a few days after he appointed Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu as his spokesmen.

‎This means a total of 15 special advisers will work with the president for now, although it is unclear if the number could still increase.

Goodluck Jonathan, former president, had at least 24 persons as his special advisers.
