DSS produces Dasuki in court for Metuh’s trial

The Department of State Services (DSS) has produced Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser, at the federal high court in Abuja for the trial of Olisa Metuh.

Metuh, a former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who is being tried for alleged money laundering, had requested Dasuki to appear as a witness to defend him in the case.

The DSS had failed to produce the former NSA at the previous sitting.

Dasuki arrived at the court Wednesday morning in the company of DSS operatives.

Dasuki had been in DSS custody since 2015 when he was arrested for allegedly diverting funds meant for purchase of arms.

His appearance in court is coming after Metuh asked the court — on Tuesday — to arrest Lawal Daura, DSS director-general, for failing to produce the former NSA.

Dasuki had earlier filed a motion on notice praying the court to adjourn further proceedings concerning the subpoena order issued to him.

The court is expected to rule on the application on Wednesday.
