Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, billionaire kidnapper better known as Evans, has pleaded not guilty to the two counts of conspiracy and kidnapping levelled against him.
Evans made the plea at a sitting of the Lagos state high court on Thursday.
At his last court appearance in August, Evans acknowledged guilt when the charges were read to him but Ogungbeje, his counsel, alleged that police compelled his client to do so.
The Lagos state government had arraigned Evans alongside five others; Uche Amadi, Ogechi Izechuwku, Okechukwu Nwachukwu, Chilaka Ifeanyi and Victor Chukwunonso, before Hakeem Oshodi, a judge.

They all pleaded not guilty.
The court was later adjourned to November 3 on the request of some of the lawyers just joining the defence team to be given time to study the proof of evidence against the defendants.
