A female suicide bomber struck early Monday morning, killing 10 worshippers who came for prayers at a mosque in the London Ciki area of Maiduguri, Borno state, TheCable has learnt.
A soldier also killed two suicide bombers that were said to be targetting an internally displaced persons (IDPs) camp in the Mamanti area of the ancient city.
Usman Yusuf, a witness, told TheCable that the soldier opened fire as the suspects made their way to the camp.
Damian Chukwu, commissioner of police in the state, promised to hold a press conference later in the day.

This is the latest in a spate of suicide bombings since the release of some commanders of Boko Haram in exchange for 82 out of the kidnapped Chibok girls.
Shortly after the captives were freed, the sect released a video to warn of devastating attacks in the days ahead.
