A fire incident has been recorded at a private telecommunications facility in Abuja.
The incident happened in Maitama, a highbrow area in the nation’s capital city.
A nearby restaurant is reported to have been engulfed by the blaze.
The federal capital territory (FCT) fire service, Asokoro division, confirmed both developments to TheCable on Saturday.

The agency said the fire affected a commercial building on Gana street hosting an MTN mast and later spread to District Restaurant and Lounge.
“The fire also affected an eye clinic building hosting Downtown restaurant,” the service added.
In a separate incident, an AP Plaza at Ademola Adetokunbo crescent, Wuse, was also damaged by fire.

The fire service told TheCable that the six-storey building also hosted an MTN control room shelter which was affected.
Both fire outbreaks have been put out and no casualties were reported, the service said.
Last Saturday, a fire outbreak occurred on a section of the Lagos blue line track opposite the NEPA station, near the Eko bridge in the Apongbon area of Lagos state.
Four persons were killed in a fire outbreak at a lounge and bar on Baale road in the Olodi Apapa area of the state, in October.

The employees of the bar were burnt beyond recognition in the inferno.
In March, some sections of the popular Wuse market in Abuja, the nation’s capital, was gutted by fire, destroying several shops and goods.
