The Lagos state government has discharged five coronavirus patients who were receiving treatment at Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor, disclosed this in a series of tweets on Monday.
“I am excited to announce some positive news ahead of our lockdown. We have just discharged 5 formerly positve COVID-19 patients from our Infectious Disease Hospital after treatment and multiple testing by our specialists. Congratulations to the healthcare team and the patients,” he tweeted.
“The preservation of life is very important and this lockdown will help us trace and stop the spread of COVID-19. We have increased capacity at all levels and I want to assure Lagosians that no matter what happens in the days ahead we can beat this. Please stay home, save lives.The patients were discharged on Monday.”

Earlier, the government had announced that six of the patients had recovered and would be discharged soon.
The total number of those who have recovered is now seven. Nigeria now has a total number of 111 coronavirus cases spread across 10 states and the FCT.

Of the 111 confirmed cases, Lagos has 68; the FCT 21, Oyo seven and Ogun three.
Enugu, Edo, Bauchi and Osun all have two cases each while Ekiti, Rivers, Benue and Kaduna all have one case each.
Two deaths have been recorded so far.
On Sunday, President Muhammadu Buhari ordered a lockdown of Lagos, Abuja and Ogun state to contain the disease.
