Minister’s brother kidnaped in Kano

Babawuro Tofai, the younger brother of Sabo Nanono, minister of agriculture, has been abducted in Kano.

Gunmen had whisked the victim away from his family house in Gabasawa local government area of the state on Monday morning.

Umar Wali, one of the aides of the minister, confirmed the abduction.

Abdullahi Haruna, police public relations officer in Kano, also confirmed the incident, saying investigation is ongoing.

Kidnapping and attacks from gunmen is spreading across north-west states.

Earlier on Monday, TheCable had reported how gunmen broke into the staff quarters of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in Kaduna state.

A senior lecturer, his wife and daughter were abducted but only the lecturer was taken into captivity as his family members were rescued.

President Muhammadu Buhari has held many meetings with service chiefs over insecurity but attacks have continued on  a high scale.
